Rush Limbaugh says Obama looks like Curious George
March 03, 2008MatthewSumpter.com seemed to break this story today, but it seems that a caller to the Rush Limbaugh show said that Barack Obama reminded them of Curious George. Rush laughs in tacit agreement and then goes to break. Only then does he realize that Curious George is a monkey and comes back trying to repair the damage.
Seems like an honest mistake, but it will be interesting to see how the various news media attack cover this story.

Rush Limbaugh said no such thing! At least if you're going to attack him (or anyone else), at least to it with accurate information. You damage the credibility of everyone on the opposite side when you publish blatantly false information about your political opponents.
A caller to Rush Limbaugh's program on Monday said that her daughter said she thinks Obama looks like Curious George. Limbaugh is completely dead, and relies on a visually transcribed copy of what his callers to his program say since he cannot hear them.
As soon as he realized what she had said he immediately took her off the air without a 'goodbye', and went on to denounce her remarks. His tone was very condemning in cutting her off and denouncing what she said.
What I'd like to know, is how can you look in the mirror knowing that you're slandering other human beings with impunity?
Integrity and the quality of your ideas will get you much farther than the supermarket tabloid-style rumor-mongering currently found on your blog.

CLARIFICATION:
Sorry, I got a bit confused between your blog and the one you cite from. My comments were intended for Matthew Sumpter, not you. I apologize for the mistake, as I read both of your articles and accidentally left the comment intended for him on your blog.
My bad.

Peter - No problem on the the first comment and thanks for the follow-up. My interest in the story was how the news media might pick up on it, which didn't really happen in the end.
